World Golf Village Meet June 1st 2024

    Good Morning Porpoise Families,

I hope everyone had a great first week of summer!

For everyone signed up and attending the meet this weekend I’ve included a visitor information attachment from Murabella, which is the World Golf Village community hosting the swim meet.

We are asking everyone to arrive no later than 7:00am.  Please make sure you check in as you arrive so we can quickly provide the host team with any entry scratches and relay updates.

If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of not being able to attend the meet in the morning please e-mail Cam as soon as you can so we can make the needed adjustments. ([email protected])

There will be parking attendants to help direct traffic on Saturday morning. However, parking is limited so please carpool if possible. With the limited parking, delays are inevitable so plan accordingly as the Murabella community in World Golf Village is a full 30 minutes from our JCP Aquatic Center.

As a reminder, this is only the second meet of the 2024 season. In years past, the Stroke and Turn judges were not incorporated until the 3rd meet of the season. Due to adjustments to the league requirements, the Stroke and Turn judges evaluate all swim meets. Please be patient with any disqualifications that may occur this weekend. With the additional practice time this week I know the coaches have been able to increase the focus on specific stroke techniques to develop awareness in our swimmers. The feedback from the Stroke and Turn judges is a great source of information and is used to help speed up the learning curve during future practices.

Finally, we are fortunate to have such a good relationship with our JCP facilities management team and community board members. Not all teams are as fortunate and some teams fight every year to be allowed to have a summer league team in their community. Please help support all our league partners by follow their community facility guidelines helping to ensure more kids have the same swimming opportunities for years to come.

    Thank you, Jonathan Waldenmayer
